About Andrew

Andrew Robinson, candidate for the West Virginia State Senate 17th District, is a lifelong resident of the Kanawha Valley. His mother and father, Joyce and Nelson Robinson raised him with a strong West Virginian work ethic and showed him that the path to success can be paved by investing in his education and his community.
Growing up in the Kanawha Valley set Andrew up for a lifetime of community service and activism. His mother began her career with the Social Security Administration as a clerical worker and climbed the rungs to retire as an Area Supervisor. College was not a financial option for Andrew’s father, who joined the Navy directly out of High School and went on to become a successful entrepreneur.
Andrew graduated from Capital High School in 2004 and attended West Virginia University, graduating with a Multidisciplinary Studies Degree. While working toward his undergraduate degree, Andrew also completed a four year Auctioneering apprenticeship, attended World Wide College of Auctioneering to gain his Auctioneer’s license, and passed the state examination to become a licensed Real Estate Agent. Other students at WVU often spoke of their wish to leave the area, but Andrew always knew that West Virginia and the Kanawha Valley would always be his home.
Andrew continued to grow his career in Real Estate including sales, investments, and management, eventually achieving a Real Estate Broker’s License. In 2012, Andrew added the pursuit of a Real Estate Appraisal Certification and his Masters Degree in Corporate and Organizational Communication, achieving both of these in 2015. Andrew's completion of his Real Estate Appraisal Certification was followed with an appointment to the Property Valuation Training and Procedures Commission by Governor Earl Ray Tomblin.
In addition to his professional and academic life, Andrew enjoys spending time with his son, Brayden. Together they participate in community programs and such as Cub Scouts, Little League Baseball, soccer and basketball. A skilled leader and team builder, Andrew spent three years coaching the Boy’s Soccer Team at Horace Mann Middle School.
Andrew Robinson’s personal and professional life has always revolved around the State of West Virginia and the Kanawha Valley. Having gained so much from his community over the years, Andrew is committed to investing in the next generation of West Virginians and expanding on the opportunities that have enriched his life here. Andrew is excited to contribute and influence his community in an active role in the West Virginia State Legislature.

News
In Their Words...

I have known the Robinson family for many years and have observed Andrew grow to be the fine young man he is. We need our younger generation involved in our political process and I believe, if elected, Andrew will be a very good legislator.
Senator Joe Manchin, lll
I’ve known Andrew Robinson his whole life- his coach and as his friend. He is a man who passionately cares about the Kanawha Valley and will work tirelessly to make the 17th District thrive and prosper.

Andrew Robinson has a special place in my heart. He was my student at Horace Mann Middle School. He worked hard and achieved a lot. He would be an asset to the state.

As a team player, Andrew will work across the aisle with both Democrats and Republicans to make West Virginia a better state to work and play.

Vision
I would like the opportunity
to represent the constituents of
West Virginia's 17th Senate District.
Growing up in Charleston, West Virginia and attending West Virginia University you consistently hear the negative about this great state. We hear about the limited opportunities for employment and entertainment. As a proud West Virginian these statements are hurtful as this state has many great qualities.
Over the years we have failed to recognize our potential in providing a positive environment for our children and other citizens.
I have one promise to the voters in the 17th District, all legislation I introduce or support will directly help or improve
West Virginian's lives in one way or another. I will work closely with fellow Senators to improve the state and no legislation
from my desk will be national political propaganda that furthers my political party and does nothing for our state.
